Product Overview

OFF-the-SHELF COURSES:
Systran has created a wide variety of training courses for both operators, maintenance technicians, and professional development. The duration of the course can be customized to fit your needs as an instructor and includes PowerPoint presentations, and student guides. Some of the topics include Compressors, Furnaces, Power Generation, Reaction, and Valves for basic operations. The maintenance technicians’ courses are designed to bridge the gap between NCCER and plant/equipment specific training in both theory and practical information. Professional Development courses are also offered which allow students to learn the training role using student guides, exercises, and job-aids.

PROCESS EQUIPMENT ANIMATIONS:
One way to improve operator training is with process equipment animations. Systran offers a large library of various 3D animations which stimulates learning and understanding of process technology. These animations are perfect for self-paced learning, small group training, and formal classroom instruction completely customized to fit your learning-specific needs. Some animations include: Air Cooler, Cryogenic Heat Exchanger, Gas Turbine, Multistage Centrifugal Compressor, Pig Launcher, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Variable Speed Electric Motor.

VIRTUAL LOCKOUT TAGOUT TRAINING:
OSHA 1910.147 (Control of Hazardous Energy standard) requires users to receive effective LOTO training. Systran’s LOTO training includes opportunities to use their knowledge on real-world scenarios in a safe learning environment. The LOTO EXP software has the capabilities to run on any standard PC with the use of a mouse, keyboard or game controller to practice safe procedures. The two modes include practice, and evaluation so the students can learn the task safely before having feedback sent about their methods of procedures including their deviation from safety, to process upset, and environmental concerns. A total of three common scenarios are included in the software- control valve scenario, pump scenario, and heat exchanger scenario. As the learner progresses throughout the tasks the complexity increases.

POLARIS HANDS ON TRAINING:
Polaris Hands-on Training (HOT) units allow instructors to teach their student the proper methods of Process Technology (PTEC) and Basic Operator Training (BOT). Each unit comes with detailed operating manuals, procedures, and structured training exercises to practice real-world skills in a safe, realistic environment. Three models are available:  HOT Model 1, HOT Model 3, HOT Model LNG.

HOT Model 1: Learn the fundamentals of temperature, flow, level, and pressure from over 100 exercises, scenarios, and procedures available for the Polaris Hands-On Training (HOT) Model 1. The HOT Model 1 unit includes:

  • Centrifugal pumps
  • Shell and tube heat exchanger
  • Fan-type air cooler
  • Electric heater
  • 300-gallon feed and product tanks
  • Chemical injection tank
  • Safety shower
  • Gauges, valves, sensors, controllers
  • Emerson Delta V Distributed Control System (DCS)

HOT Model 3: Learn the fundamentals of distillation by separating a binary mixture of water and glycol. Operators learn unit startup and shutdown, continuous operation, and quality control with the robust curriculum and procedures and accompany the Polaris HOT Model 3. The HOT Model 3 includes:

  • Centrifugal pumps
  • Vacuum pump (liquid ring compressor)
  • Vacuum tower
  • Reboiler
  • Overhead condenser and overhead receiver
  • Boiler and boiler feed drum
  • Gauges, valves, sensors and controllers
  • Emerson Delta V Distributed Control System (DCS)
